Important Information for Relocation to Rehoboth Beach / Lewes

These are things that you will need to know about the Rehoboth Beach / Lewes area, to make your move very simple and easy.

Useful Facts about Rehoboth Beach

  • Rehoboth City hall is located on Rehoboth Ave, and is open Monday – Friday 8:30A – 4P

  • Any unreasonable, unnecessary, loud, or disturbing noise between the hours of 9P – 7A is prohibited.

  • Parking Meters run from the first Friday before Memorial Day, through the second Sunday following Labor Day from 10A – 12A. Free parking in the winter!

  • Meter rates are $2/hour – you can pay by quarters or credit card via Parkmobile

    • Dogs - It is illegal for dogs to run at large at any time. The City has both a leash law and a pooper scooper law which are enforced. Dogs are prohibited from the beach and boardwalk from May 1 through September 30.

Useful Facts about Lewes

  • Lewes City hall is located on East Third St, and is open Monday – Friday 9A – 4P

  • Any unreasonable, unnecessary, loud, or disturbing noise between normal sleeping hours (11P – 7A) is prohibited.

  • Parking Meters only from May 1 – October 14 between the hours of 9A – 6P. After 6P in season, you don’t have to pay! And all winter too!

  • You cannot ride any bike over or on any sidewalk within the City of Lewes, unless you are going to or coming from a street that you can operate a bike on sidewalks with.

  • If you have a dog, it needs to be leashed at all times it is in public. You also need to carry poop bags with you, if the dog has to use the “facilities”

  • Two Times a week

  • Mondays & Thursdays – South side of Rehoboth

  • Tuesdays & Fridays – North side of Rehoboth including Schoolvue area

December 1 – April 17

  • One time per week for residential pick-up

  • Mondays – South side of Rehoboth

  • Tuesdays – North side of Rehoboth including Schoolvue area

Not Bulk Trash Pick-up

Summer:

  • Monday and Thursday for residents at the beach and east side of the city

  • Tuesday for the west side of the city including Savannah Rd, School Line Rd, and Drake Knoll

  • Monday Holidays move trash pick-up days to Tuesday and Wednesday

Winter:

  • Monday for residents at the beach and east side of the city

  • Tuesday for the west side of the city including Savannah Rd, School Line Rd, and Drake Knoll

  • Monday Holidays move trash pick-up days to Tuesday and Wednesday

Bulk Trash Pick-up

Summer:

  • 4th Wednesday of June, July, August, and September

Winter:

  • 4th Wednesday of November, January, March, and May

  • The city will NOT collect items containing Freon, construction materials, business generated trash, hazardous liquids, tires, concrete, or yard/garden waste containing dirt.
